Full Time - 12-Month Contract with Potential for Permanency

An exceptional opportunity awaits with a leading financial services (Banking) client. Elevate your career by joining our client’s management team as a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will leverage your extensive banking or financial services experience to lead a dynamic team of four. This role involves regulatory reporting, daily treasury operations, liquidity management, month-end reporting, and the preparation of annual accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Review annual accounts and lead the external audit process.
  • Oversee all regulatory reporting, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of relevant APRA standards.
  • Review BAS, TOFA, payroll tax, and annual tax returns.
  • Manage treasury operations, cash flow, and investment strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and data relevance.
  • Review and develop procedures and flowcharts for critical finance functions. 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or CMA is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role (e.g., Finance Manager, Financial Controller), ideally within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management, including the identification and mitigation of financial risks.

Our client, an audit firm located in Sydney, is looking to hire Accounts Payable Analysts as a result of growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and record invoices and other AP documentation, check and confirm liability for payment, ensuring accuracy.
  • Allocate approved expenditure to the correct budget account (cost centre /GL), ensuring data accuracy.
  • Process payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage reconciliation of major supplier accounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our suppliers and stakeholders regarding AP queries.
  • Follow up on missing payments in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in an Accounts Payable function.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with conflicting priorities.
  • Analytical with an understanding of AP standards and statutory requirements.
  • D365 Finance experience.
  • Confident and capable communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work with a range of different personalities to achieve agreed outcomes.
